Hey, feline fans. Happy (belated) Black Cat Appreciate Day! We love all cats equally here at I Can Has Cheezburger, but black cats hold a special place in our hearts. When we were growing up, our first family cat was a black cat (named "Meow" - original, right?) so we will always think fondly of black cats. In fact, we're not the only ones, as the internet decided to give black cats their own special day, which happened to be yesterday!

Black cats really are the best. They're the purrfect combination of silliness, cuddles, and independence that makes for a pawsitively ameowzing kitty companion. Plus, sometimes their teefies stick out and they look like little vampires - we just think it's the cutest thing ever. Sure, orange cats are funny from their lack of brain cells, white cats and very demure, very mindful…but black cats have this meowgic about them - and it's not that they bring bad luck.
